WORK STATION

For the longest time (over 10 years), we've been using a simple table as a desk. All and all, it was fine if not perfect. But then, I needed a place where I could lay flat my larger illustrations and nice flat file cabinets are hard to come by, they are quite expensive and, anyway, their footprint is too massive for our tiny apartment! That is when the idea of a new desk came up.

For this project, I adapted a previous design to include a large drawer for my illustrations, a smaller one for basic tools, and some space to hide the mess in an attempt to free up the worktop as much as possible. Also, the desk has been adjusted to frame a couple of basic metal file cabinets I had found for free on Craigslist (because you can never have enough storage).
